If you are looking for a nice-sounding beginner clarinet, or a second instrument for marching band, this used Buffet B12 would be ideal. Two of the tenon corks are new, and pads and springs have been checked over and replaced as needed. There are several scratches on the plastic body, and as can be seen in the pictures, a spot of wear in the finish at the top of the first joint. None of these will affect the sound. Although it has a shiny appearance, there is some key plating wear, particularly noticeable on the four right hand keys of the lower joint. The mouthpiece has a little discoloration and one small nick on the back. It comes in a Buffet case that has scuff marks and scratches on the outside along with chipped out corners. This used Selmer Signet Special would make a great choice if you are looking for an intermediate level wood clarinet. It gets a great sound, and is built to last. Although it doesn't look new, it still has a nice appearance. There is some plating wear, particularly obvious on the side G sharp key. There are no chips or cracks in the wood, and all pads, corks and springs have been checked over and replaced as needed. The mouthpiece has some discoloration and a couple of scratches, but is otherwise in good condition. It comes in a briefcase style case that has some wear on the corners as well as some punctures. As can be seen from the pictures, the lining is quite soiled, but is serviceable. Included are 4 new reeds, new swab and cork grease.
